Chief of Police Paul Griffith / 450 - Serving Alfred Since 1996
Paul graduated from the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy in Corning NY in 1995. In 1996, he was appointed as a part-time Patrolman for the Village of Alfred. In September of 1997, he accepted a full-time position with the City of Hornell Police Department and in September of 1998 he accepted a transfer to the Alfred Police Department as a full-time Patrolman. In 2006 Paul was promoted to the rank of Sergeant/Investigator and took over all of the investigative duties from Sergeant Billings. On October 14th 2014 Paul was Promoted to Chief of Police. Paul has an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Park and Recreational Law Enforcement from Vermilion Community College in Ely, Minnesota and also completed the Seasonal Park Ranger Training. Paul has numerous certifications and specialized training to his credit.

Sergeant Dylan Burch/451 - Serving Alfred Since 2013
Dylan graduated from the Chatauqua County Sheriff's Academy and was appointed as a full time officer in 2013. Dylan was promoted to the rank of Sergeant/Investigator in 2015 and took over all the investigative duties from Sergeant Griffith. Dylan's departmental assignments include supervising patrolman on daily operations and special assignments, warrant control officer, datamaster dmt supervisor, general topics instructor, bicycle patrol and field training Sergeant. Dylan has numerous certifications and specialized training to his credit. He also serves part-time with the Cuba Police Department. Dylan has an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Jamestown Community College.

Patrolman Ryan McKee/4514 - Serving Alfred Since 2010
Ryan graduated from the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy and was appointed as a full time officer in 2010. Ryan's departmental assigments include field training officer, bicycle patrol and evidence / property custodian.

Patrolman Brandon Austin/4512 - Serving Alfred Since 2013 to 2015 Part-Time/ 2015 Full-Time
Brandon was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2013; He worked full time for the Alfred University Public Safety Department and in March of 2015 he was appointed as a full-time police officer for the Village of Alfred. Brandon is a graduate of the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy (S.T.L.E.A.) in Corning N.Y.

Patrolman John Dougherty/4513 - Serving Alfred Since 2002
John was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2002; He worked full time for Alfred University as the Director of the Public Safety Department and part-time for the Wellsville Police Department.
John currently works for the Andover central school as the school's resource officer.
Patrolman Charles Thompson/455 - Serving Alfred Since 2012
Chuck was re-appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2012; He previously served as part-time Patrolman from 1990 - 2000. He retired as a Sergeant in 2012 from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office with over 30 years of service.
Patrolman Matthew Dodge/4510 - Serving Alfred Since 2005
Matt was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2005; He works full time for Alstom.
Patrolman Wayne Minges/458 - Serving Alfred Since 2005
Wayne was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2005; Full time, Wayne owns and operates Minges Flooring in Olean and Wellsville, and Sunny Hill Campground in Richburg, NY.

Mark was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2006; Mark is currently a Teacher for the Hornell BOCES Law Enforcement program.

Mark was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2012. Mark is a graduate of the police academy somewhere.

Nicholas was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in July 2018.
Patrolman Kurt Amidon/452- Serving Alfred Since 2016
Kurt was appointed as a part-time Patrolman in 2016: Kurt also serves as a part-patrolman for the Village of Canisteo Police Department.
Partolman Tory (Terry) Rounds / 454 Serving Alfred Since 1997
Tory was a full-time Police officer for the Village of Alfred for 17 years at which time he transferred to the Village of Wellsville Police Department. Tory retired from Wellsville PD and returned to Alfred as a part-time officer. Terry currently works at the Genesee Valley central school as the school's resource officer.
