The Village of Alfred is searching for a deputy clerk/treasurer to serve as assistant to the treasurer and clerk, support all day-to-day operations of the Village Hall and provide a wide array of complex, diverse, and confidential administrative and support services in a sensitive, demanding, and rapidly changing environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*willingness to learn and grow in understanding and effectiveness in the Village of Alfred office
*excellent written and oral communication in person, by telephone, and through email and
other digital venues
*understanding of office and administrative practices and procedures as well as the
business functions and communications of public agencies
*strong computer skills, including strengths in social media, to manage the Village's
electronic needs such as billing, tax information, grants applications/management, and
making public notices
*represent the Village of Alfred with discretion, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
*good organizational skills, an ability to work independently
*work cooperatively with government officials, department heads, employees and the public

*This is a part-time daytime position Monday-Thursday.
*Wages commensurate with experience, education and qualifications.
